Remote

Remote lets an approved companion continue a limited set of chat workflows while OpenCode Superapp is running on your desktop computer.

Remote is the only paid Superpower. Browser Automation, Computer Use, Local Dictation, and BYOK Voice do not require this license.

Pair a device

1. Open Remote in OpenCode Superapp.
2. Enable Remote.
3. Start pairing and display the QR code.
4. Scan it from inside the native companion, or use the system camera/browser for Remote Web.
5. Review the pending device and approve it in the desktop app.

Pairing requests expire after five minutes. Approval authorizes the companion to control the projects currently available to this desktop installation until the device is revoked. The desktop remains authoritative: adding or removing a project updates every connected companion, and a removed project becomes inaccessible immediately.

Security model

The desktop and companion make outbound encrypted WebSocket connections to a Cloudflare relay. The relay routes opaque encrypted frames; it does not hold the application keys required to read project messages.

The desktop decrypts and validates each request, canonicalizes every requested project directory against its current project set, enforces the finite Remote operation set, and calls OpenCode locally.

Availability

The desktop host must be running and online. The installation-bound purchase token has no local expiry, but Remote periodically needs a signed service grant to use the managed relay.
