Install the app
OpenCode Superapp is distributed as a signed and notarized disk image. The app contains its compatible OpenCode runtime, so no separate OpenCode installation or background service is required.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Use an Apple-silicon Mac.
- Confirm the Mac meets the system requirements.
- Keep your provider credentials available if you are not already connected through OpenCode.
Install
Section titled “Install”- Visit the OpenCode Superapp download page.
- Download the current disk image.
- Open the disk image and drag OpenCode Superapp into Applications.
- Open the app from Applications.
- Choose a local project folder when prompted.
The native host starts one authenticated OpenCode runtime on your Mac and shares it across every project and session in the app. It stops when the app exits.
First-launch prompts
Section titled “First-launch prompts”macOS asks for permissions only when a feature needs them. Core chat and project workflows do not require Computer Use or microphone permission. Review macOS permissions before enabling optional capabilities.
