Desktop targets

The packaged app includes its compatible OpenCode runtime. You do not need a system OpenCode installation, Node.js, pnpm, Rust, or a separately managed backend to use the product.
Feature requirements
Section titled “Feature requirements”Providers
Section titled “Providers”You need an account and credential accepted by the provider you select. Provider model availability, pricing, and regional eligibility are controlled by that provider.
Dictation
Section titled “Dictation”Dictation needs microphone permission and about 548 MiB for the pinned local Whisper weight. The first download needs internet access. The weight defaults to the standard Hugging Face hub cache and can be shared with Grokship and other compatible software; transcription itself remains local.
Computer Use
Section titled “Computer Use”Computer Use needs a configured operator model and the native accessibility and application-window capture services for the operating system. macOS requires version 15 or newer and the signed helper permissions described under macOS permissions. Windows uses UI Automation and application-window capture. Ubuntu uses AT-SPI, PipeWire, and the XDG ScreenCast portal.
Remote
Section titled “Remote”The desktop host must stay running and online. The companion and desktop need outbound network access to the Remote relay.
