The packaged app includes its compatible OpenCode runtime. You do not need a system OpenCode installation, Node.js, pnpm, Rust, or a separately managed backend to use the product.
Feature requirements
Section titled “Feature requirements”Providers
Section titled “Providers”You need an account and credential accepted by the provider you select. Provider model availability, pricing, and regional eligibility are controlled by that provider.
Dictation
Section titled “Dictation”Dictation needs microphone permission and a separate local Whisper model download.
Computer Use
Section titled “Computer Use”Computer Use needs macOS 15+, a configured operator model, and the helper permissions described under macOS permissions.
Remote
Section titled “Remote”The desktop host must stay running and online. The companion and Mac need outbound network access to the Remote relay.
